How it works
Send me your dates
Tell me your dates in Penang, where you’re staying and what you’d like to shoot, e.g. a kebaya shoot in a heritage house. I check my availability and suggest a plan.
Book with a 50% deposit
The deposit confirms your date and lets me book my flights. You don’t need to arrange anything for me.
I fly in
It’s a short flight from Singapore. I arrive the day before your shoot and fly back the day after.
Your photoshoot
4 or 8 hours. George Town is compact: most spots are a short walk or Grab ride apart; you arrange the rides and I come along.
Photos on the spot
Pay the balance after the shoot and I transfer all the photos to you on the spot.
Where we can shoot
Nyonya kebaya in a Peranakan house
Jade-green walls, carved wood, mother-of-pearl furniture, Venetian mirrors and etched-glass windows: Peranakan heritage houses are the perfect setting for a kebaya portrait. Kebaya rental shops in George Town can dress you and style your hair.
George Town’s old streets
Pastel shophouses, five-foot ways, old wooden doors, temples and street art across the UNESCO-listed old town, with a kebaya or in your own clothes.
Cafés and the waterfront
Heritage cafés in restored shophouses, and the wooden clan jetties over the water for a relaxed walk at sunset.

Half day or full day?
A half day is perfect for a kebaya shoot: getting dressed at a rental shop, an hour or two in a heritage house, then a short walk in the old streets. A full day adds a change of outfit, the street art and cafés of George Town and the waterfront at sunset. Inside the houses, late morning to mid-afternoon gives the best window light.

Questions
How much does a photoshoot in Penang cost?
S$300 for a half day (4 hours) or S$500 for a full day (8 hours), plus S$200 for my return flights from Singapore and 2 nights’ stay.
Is the kebaya rental included?
No. Kebaya rental shops in George Town usually include the outfit, accessories and hair styling; I can suggest how to plan it with the shoot.
Who pays for transport and tickets?
You arrange local rides (usually Grab) and any entrance tickets for heritage houses. My flights and stay are covered by the fixed S$200 travel fee.
When do we get the photos?
On the spot. Pay the balance after the shoot and I transfer all the photos to you straight away.
What if it rains?
Afternoon showers are common in Penang. A kebaya shoot is mostly indoors in heritage houses, so rain rarely stops it; we keep the outdoor spots flexible.
Do you shoot elsewhere in Malaysia?
Yes, including Kuala Lumpur and Malacca. Send me your dates and destination for a quote.
Going somewhere else?
I also travel for shoots in Ho Chi Minh City, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. See Ho Chi Minh City photoshoots →
Going to Penang soon?
Send me your dates and where you're staying, and I'll check my availability.
